Xie Jingxian, Pianist
 
Xie Jingxian was born in 1983 in Shanghai. She started to learn the piano at the age of four. In her childhood, she already won many piano competitions for children both home and abroad.
 
In 1996-2002, she studied at the Middle School of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with Prof. Zheng Shuxing. While a student, she received scholarship consecutively.
 
In 2002-2008, she studied at the Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany with Prof. Gitti Pirner whose teacher was the German Piano Master Wilhelm Kempff and first prize winner o the Genneva International Music Competition. In 2006 she got her Master’s Degree with distinction, which granted her a special admission to study the Meisterklasse, the highest music degree in Germany. In 2008 she obtained her Meisterklasse Degree (equivalent to Doctorial Degree) with Distinction.
 
She was the First Prize winner of the 15th Palma Ramon Llull International Piano Competition in 2008 in Spain, becoming its first ever Chinese winner. She was also a prize winner in the Stravinsky Piano Competition in the USA, the Piano Competition for piano major students of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the 2nd Seiler International Piano Competition in Germany and the 8th Munich International Piano Competition.
 
She appears not only in piano recitals, but also in chamber music concerts, modern music and with orchestras in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia and China. She has appeared already in the following festivals: the Munich Piano Festival, Chamber Music Festival, Modern Music Festivals in Germany, Tegernsee Music Festival, Chopin Festival in Vadellmossa, Mallorca, Spain. She has played with the Xia’men Philharmonic, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Shanghai Sinfonietta, the Spanish Baleares Island Symphony Orchestra, Korean Gyeonggi Philharmonic with such conductors as Phillippe Bender, Nanse Gum, Misha Damev, Muhai Tang,Yongji Wang, Xu Zhong and Zhang Liang . In January 2009 she was invited with the Shanghai Philharmonic on its tour in China and in June she played with the Shanghai Philharmonic in the “Shanghai Week” Music Festival in Brisbane, Australia. Her solo and concerto concert on April 25, 2009 in Shanghai was broadcast live by Radio Shanghai.
 
She has attended different master courses by Philippe Entrement, Leslie Howard, David Dubal, Lilya Zilberstein, Jerome Rose, Ilan Rogoff, Georg Sava, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Yara Tal and Andreas Groeythusen. Her beautiful sound, dazzling technique and refined musicianship have won favorable comments by these masters.
 
She is also a champion of cultural exchange programs between Europe and China. She took part in the Chinese New Year Galas supported by the Chinese Consulate in Munich. She represented China to play in the Asian Music Night in Germany. Her Interpretation was warmly welcomed by the german audience and international audience. In 2008, she gave a special piano recital in Munich to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She likes giving charity concerts for the sick children etc.
 
She is also a member of the Piano Duo ”Klovsky & Xie”. As solist and duo pianist, she gives different concerts across Europe and China. From November.2rd to 9th 2010 she will play on a concert tour in Korea. She is also a part-time composer and writer. She composed the piece <Love in August> which has been chosen as the Theme song for 100 couples wedding ceremony in 2009. Her articles have been published in different music magazines in Shanghai. Recently she is dedicated to the combination between art and cars. She coorperated with the Volkswagen Germany and played on its global press conferences. She is also a simultaneous interpreter in English and German for many master courses in major music and art.
