Zhejiang Folk Art & Acrobatics Troupe is professional troupe of Zhejiang Province. It’s now sited on No.7 of Yingye Road, Hangzhou, the tourism city with scenes of worldwide fame and “paradise” well known in the whole country. Her predecessor is Zhejiang Folk Art Troupe (Team) specialized in storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect founded in 1959. It’s one the significant groups in this field. From 1993, it set up farce group and began to recruit acrobatic talents in 1996; In February 1997, it was approved to be expanded into Zhejiang Fold Art & Acrobatics General Troupe by Provincial Planning Committee and Provincial Cultural Ministry and had Zhejiang Folk Art Troupe, Zhejiang Acrobatic Troupe, Zhejiang Farce Troupe and Zhejiang Star Performance Troupe as its subsidiaries. At present, it has performers of 146 persons. After established, her footprint has spread all over cities and towns of this province and many cities and provinces in China mainland and countries and areas of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, France, Italy, Austria and so on. And we have won 10 prizes of Contest of Art internationally and nationally. In nowadays, our number of shows is up to 2000 or so at home or abroad.

 

 

629 A.D., in order to obtain true Buddhism sutra, Monk Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty led three prentices to Hindustan, In spite of long journey and lots of dangers. All the way, they not only suffered a mass of hardships and dangers, but also hindered by monsters and fairies. Fortunately, Monk Xuanzang’s first prentice, namely, Monkey King, had extraordinary abilities and sense of justice, overcame all the monsters and fairies, and protected Monk Xuanzang from dangers every time.
Even so, Monk Xuanzang was gullible, misunderstood Monkey King, and drove him away. After Monkey King’s leaving, Monk Xuanzang and his other two prentices passed by the bones cave, in which lived the bones fairy. The second prentice, namely, Pigsy, felt big danger coming, carried the consent of Monk Xuanzang, got to Mountain of Flower and Fruit, and appealled to Monkey King for help.
