Shaolin Kungfu
Shaolin Kungfu is a precious heritage in Chinese culture. It is encyclopedical and phantasmagoric. In common parlance, all the Kungfu around world comes from Shaolin. During the thousands of years Shaolin Kungfu gets countless love from many expert Buddhist monks, heroes and ordinary people.
Shaolin Kungfu gets its name from its cradleland—Shaolin Temple on Song Mountain. Its naissance is based on the distillate of traditional Chinese Wushu. In Chinese history, at the end of Sui Dynasty and the beginning of T’ang, General Li Shiming vanquished his enemy General Wang Renze with the help of thirteen Buddhist monks. These Buddhist monks got a large reward after the war and Shaolin Temple also became famous and got a laudatory title—“the Number One Temple around the world”.
Shaolin Kungfu is one of the most widespread and wide-influencing genres in Chinese Kungfu. It has its own unique style and peculiarity. Shaolin Kungfu is flexible and powerful, plain and simple, accurate and various. It has quiet internal and mighty external. Every action either attacks or defends and changes in an unpredictable way. Shaolin Kungfu performance is elegant and bellicose and its flying is like a dragon, moving is like the lightning and sound is like the thunder.
Shaolin Kungfu includes hundreds of skills such as long-weapon-Kungfu, short –weapon-Kungfu, soft-weapon-Kungfu, hidden-weapon-Kungfu, fist, stick-Kungfu, falchion-Kungfu, spear-Kungfu, sword-Kungfu, Qigong and etc.
Centuries-old Chinese civilization gestated millions culture masterpieces and the splendid Shaolin Kungfu is the crystallization of human intelligence. In the field of Chinese Kungfu, Shaolin Kungfu is a flaring pearl and shining all the time. Up to now, Shaolin Kungfu has submitted an application to the UNESCO for the title of “Magnum Opus of World Nonmaterial Culture Legacy”.
